Changeover reed switch products are a changeover or single-pole double throw SPDT reed switch type where a normally closed contact opens before a normally open contact closes. A changeover reed switch is also referred to as a (Form C) reed switch or break-before-make (Form C), which defines the sequence in which one contact opens its connection to another contact and then closes its connection to a third contact. Changeover reed switches can also be used as a (Form B), normally closed reed switch (N.C.) in a reed relay or reed sensor application.
Form C reed switches are available in various sensitivity ranges. Additionally a variety of custom options and designs such as THD or SMD version or tape & reel packaging is available. There is also a specially protected and robust SMD version, the MK01-H, which is injection molded for special requirements in harsh environments.
